^^ thats a great idea ben

I actually stole the idea from TommyK, although we did it a little differntly. It works really well if the bolts are inserted correctly. You don't have to worry about anything spinning and nuts holds the subs down really well. Here's his box

your absolutely right...

hey justin your screws didnt snap...deafy says so, so its how it is...

SHUT THE FUCK UP DUDE.

:unknw:

I like the t-nuts because it is easy to remove. Using screws - you can " screw out" your screw holes even if you remove your speakers once.

With t-nuts...its metal...all day long baby

#12 sheet metal screws. Predrill the holes so the screw threads into the wood instead of cracking it.

4th set of subs in my wall, and the first set of MT's were pulled out and reinstalled twice. Same holes, no problems.

Brian

Current system:

1997 Blazer - (4) Customer Fi NEO subs with (8) American Bass Elite 2800.1s

Previous systems:

2000 Suburban - (4) BTL 15's and (4) IA 40.1's = 157.7 dB at 37 Hz.

1992 Astro Van - (6) BTL 15's and (6) IA 40.1's = 159.7 dB at 43 Hz.

i use high load #3 screws USUALLY but since i took my subs out so many times over the last 4 years, i chewed up the holes a little. SInce i couldnt go in at an angle and get more "bite" with the thicker screw i went to the gold colored #2 fasteners. They are thicker then standard sheetrock screws but smaller then the #3's i was using so i was able to go in at an angle and grab more wood. Ive had them in there since November at world finals in San Mateo. I had NO problems until i got the new BTL's.....now they are snapping screws left and right. Its happened two subs at a time twice now. I know i need a new box and when i do ill use my #3's again since they wont break.......but let me assure you the new BTL's are snapping the screws im using and its not from over torquing it. If it was from over torqing it, they would have snapped when i still had the drill on them, duhhh :D
