I'm a fan of both. IMO both have there place.

If you don't have much room, then a few good subs are your thing.

If you have room to spare and like seeing a gang load of subs pumping then go with a bunch.

A few subs are easier to get loud then a ton. A ton of subs will feel louder when they move a lot of air. :hairtrick:

not many cars can get me to pluggin my ears but this one.......damn. I mean the first minute is ok but that thing just really starts digging deeper and deeper in your earhole till you cant stand it no more. Seems like it does it with relative ease....16 12's on 8 amps.........gotta love it. :)

x2, the shallows cannot move as much as the full size.

lol X3 .......that why i got rid of the things.....i didnt like them...they were ok but u couldnt even hear them when u got out of the truck 30ft....now the the Fi it so great and hits so much lower then them shallows...live u learn

2 AQ 10'' HDC3 copper subs

1 3500d AQ amp

146.3db on TL with stock electrical in single cab truck at 32hz

RESULT: 1st place at comp, 3rd overall out of 20 cars

i used to have four 12" ultra liniers, they where reletivly good subs for burps and such. i couldnt for the life of me blow them, i tried (exept a power outlet lol). well i went from those four 12" and yeah they got loud, then i sold the hatchback and got a cavy. no room for the four of them without building a wall (i wouldnt loose a back seat unless they where good subs and i hit at least a 145) so i got one 15 dc level 2, im giving it half the power as the four 12" and it is louder and gets way deeper then the four 12"s. the level 2 is priced very nicely IMO and is well worth the money, i love mine. and now from my experience i would take the good quality subwoofer over a few cheap ones any day.

i had four shallow pioneer subs in my truck powered by a memphis class d amp. each sub was getting about 250RMS a sub.....i got the new Fi BL12'' sub and installed it in a 2.5cuft box ported to 32hz getting 1000RMS and hits way harder than the four subs in a sealed box.....everyone i know that hurd the shallows and then hurd the Fi single 12'' was shocked....it is two times louder no doubt....drops so low and clean.................so i would go with good quality subs over alot of cheap subs IMO......you will be happy in the end

Okay your comparing sealed shallow mounts vs. a ported sub more geared toward spl....

I dont honestly think that is even close to being a fair comparison.

Lol do what I did save up and get a gang of cone area from some bad ass subs

Best of both worlds

X10 :yahoo:

I feel the same way. if I'm going to go big(or alot) I'm going to do it big and badass. :D

I don't like cheap unless there is a good reason for it.
