The Performer
I would assume silicone can be alright, just BE SURE to let it cure and air out for a couple days before putting the subs in. Otherwise if you just would rather not take the risk use wood glue and rub it in the seams with your finger. Pretty good thread, I wish I had someone giving all this information when I started out doing boxes about a year ago. I had always just gone with screws every 5-6 inches because if the glue tried to budge ever the screw would keep that from happening. I guess bottom line is, wood glue really is "tha sh!t" Quote CERTIFIED BITCHES!!! Not being new at something doesn't mean anything. sonic purity
yea, I wish they had these forums when I had my business. Alot of what I did was trial and error. It would have helped to have all of this knowledge at my fingertips. Quote n2caraudio.com
sonic purity
One of the main reasons for the screws was, when trying to build a couple of boxes a day. you dont have time to let glues dry or silicon fumes air out before getting the carpet or vinyl on it and mounting the sub so it can get into the customer vehicle. But now that the only boxes I build are for my own vehicles, I can take my time Quote n2caraudio.com

wL<3bass
I use screws, titebond, and liquidnails for the sealant and t-nuts for the subs (I hate stripping out holes) but use gorilla glue and that box will never come apart..... The Performer
gorilla glue is complete crap bro Yeah, I never trust it. The feature of gorilla glue is that it expands, something you do NOT want happening between your box sides. T-nuts were presented from god himself. Quote CERTIFIED BITCHES!!!
