Derrick824
Get a scrap strip of wood. Predrill a hole and put a screw through it then 8.375" away predrill another hole and put a screw through there. Shoot one end of that into the center of your sub location then use the other screw as a scribe to mark the cutout. Another way thats a lil more difficult to get exact. Get a piece of speaker wire and put a small ring terminal on each end so that each ring terminal is exactly 8.375". Screw one end to the center of your sub location and use a pencil in the other to draw out your circle. The easiest way. Get a Jasper jig and router. avs20
If it's for one use only, take a piece of mdf or any other scrap wood and make a pilot hole and use a bolt or something that you have the right size drill bit for and make that your pilot hole. Let's say you use a 1/4" drill bit. Find a carriage bolt or something with a head on it that is 1/4" in diameter to hold the 'jig' in place. Then measure half of your distance on the wood, mark it and drill a hole for a pen or anything else you have that will fit through the hole to mark the circle. Fairly simple to make, but if you're going to be cutting different size sub holes, invest in a large compass.

David
1 screw + tape measure+ 18gauge wire+ ring terminal= perfect circle make your x for your center, from the center mark measure out 8 3/8"s make 4 marks around th center of your X screw your screw into your center mark, hook your ring terminal to your screw, put your pencil on one of your 8 3/8s mark pull your wire tight and use the wire to guide you around. thats how I do it. I have used a strip of wood,it works better with a pencil on one end and a screw at the center of the sub hole.I have also used a drywall hole cutter,it just barely works for a 18" sub Quote Assman IdustriesFear The DuckTeam Notoriously Loud Mafia
