Need Tools.... Harbor Freight? Experience W/harbor Freight? Enter Please.

we've got one here, great prices, had problems with a drill i got there and the bits i bought broke easily, but our other stuff works fine.

the one here ...is not bad ...if you break anything ..the manager is cool and will tell you go get a replacement ...so cheap are not ..i think that pretty cool of him..

They're stuff is good depending on WHAT you walk into the store expecting to get. If you're looking for a drill you plan on using more than once then you will leave the store with a piece of junk, however if you go into the store to get chip brushes for fiberglassing then you'll be the happiest person ever.

Stay away from the tools you NEED to depend on, (drills, saws, grinders...)

I do recommend the expendables, things that it's just impossible to break. Example, how the hell can you make a P.O.S. chip brush? The things I've found are great things from harbor freight is things like, brushes, step bits (very impressed), small soldering irons, clamps, bungee cords, air hose fittings, nut driver set... you know, the little things that it's just impossible to screw up in the manufacturing process...

I buy stuff from them when I dont mind "disposable " in mind

Honestly, I try and buy tools from Craigslist, you can buy some great tools for crazy cheap

I have a Craftsman digital Radial Arm Saw, that also acts as a 24" table saw, and for $100, its my best, most reliable tool, next to my router.

If you only need to use the tools once... or every once and awhile then harbor freight is good. If you need to use the tools everyday then I'd go elsewhere.

same here, I picked up a motorcycle lift thay was on sale and the first time I used it it was great, the second time it earned a spot at the curb. Save a little and get a quallity tool you can rely on.

they should hold up good for what i need them to do. i'll get better if these dont last long. im sure i'll be fine tho. like i said, its just to get the rust taken care of b4 the snow & salt eats the shit up more..

well i got an air nailer that didn't work

but i got a 10 ga compressor thats works great i wouldn't buy anything from their without a warranty but overall they great for hand tools

i give them 7 out of 10

for certain things that are going to be used up (cut off wheels) there is absolutely no problem going to harbor freight. Even for most tool it is fine, so long as you dont think you are getting snap-on or S&K quality tools. they will work, and I have had decent experience with the quality of their tools, but then again I wouldn't buy anything I plan on putting my faith into, like a jack, or lift or anything of that nature.

ill say this, if you are doing some type of marine construction, or something that a tool can be lost very easily, theni would by all mean by from harbor freight. because there is really no reason to buy a $12 wrench from home depot, if you're gonna end up dropping it over board 3 days after you bought it not able to retrieve it. so, thats why i bought some stuff from there
