Not that oddball aint GOOD, somebody gotta take the first steps to break new ground but I never encountered a port that starts out one size and changes throughout-other than a horn shaped port. Dale Posted January 7, 2007 Report Share Posted January 7, 2007 The 'flare' at the end of the horn actually amplifies the sound coming from it. If you take a speaker, cut out the cone and let it play....it'll play extremely low. So the cone of the speaker also amplifies the sound-not just the amp. Final example, when you yell out someone's name sometimes you put your hand around your mouth. That's a 'rough' horn and also helps amplify the sound coming from your mouth.
