Not that oddball aint GOOD, somebody gotta take the first steps to break new ground but I never encountered a port that starts out one size and changes throughout-other than a horn shaped port. Pokey Posted January 7, 2007 Report Posted January 7, 2007 I'll have to get someone to design one for my wifes car when she gets it on Monday (Hopefully). I dunno how to design boxes or I'd try it myself. But why waste when I can ask someone with the knowledge and experience.

Dale Posted January 7, 2007 Report Posted January 7, 2007 The 'flare' at the end of the horn actually amplifies the sound coming from it. If you take a speaker, cut out the cone and let it play....it'll play extremely low. So the cone of the speaker also amplifies the sound-not just the amp. Final example, when you yell out someone's name sometimes you put your hand around your mouth. That's a 'rough' horn and also helps amplify the sound coming from your mouth.

stratusrt01 Posted January 7, 2007 Author Report Posted January 7, 2007 There's formulas, but none of the are easy enough to use to make it to where you can build a great one the first time out, especially in a car. H/T, probably. There's a couple people who can design them, I just went with TTB because the first one I got from them was a beast.
