LSN2meBoom916
OK I got most/all pics from ONE install in my PB so I'm makin a new thread in member builds for it and the others seperately. I think/guessin too many from each setup... I think they'll bleed together. So here's the story: Cowerker has this bish (1989 Ford Bronco II 2dr) w/ some MTX 6000 series (I think) 10's and a lil mtx 2 chann pushin em. (see before pic) So Amidst my "audio adventures" and building this & that either he decided or he gave in to my naggin him about lettin me build him a better setup. He bought most/all the parts (subs, mids, wire, etc) through ME and he had his own deck already. He gave me NO $$ up front so i just had to buy the materials outta my pocket and "keep it under $500" and then he'd pay me back when it was done. Deck: Apine 7832 Front mids: Phoenix Gold 6 1/2" coax in front doors. Rear mids: Phoenix Gold 6 1/2" coax in Rear pass. area. Mid amp: Phoenix Gold QX300.4 4channel (60x4 rms) Sub amp: Soundstream Reference 500 Subs: 2-JL Audio 12W3D2's (version one) Box: 1.35cft /sub Sealed, Indiv. chambers w/ plexi front, sides, and "JL" logo inserts (see pics), all white interior w/ glow paint, lit by Blue neon on sides of box (srry no pics) And here we go-Startin on the box: Rhino liner sprayed to even out the finish Thinkin INSIDE the box... After I Rhino lined it I used that Grey Fleckstone like Steve put inside the box for his 2-RE18's (this was BEFORE I ever met steve or saw his box so no hatin allowed) You can see the cardboard "stop signs" taped in place over the front plexi to keep over spray off. This was to level out the floor and make it more "uniform", also give me a color matched floorboard after I vinyled it. I used plumbers tape to secure it using the trim screws from the interior panel at the tailgate-kinda holda the floor board in place. You can see the other end w/ the same stop sign look in the trim panels. The garage all-a-mess. Trim panels/stop signs from inside cabin before box went in. I was still kinda LEARNING on the vinyl work so be nice I've gotten lots better since these pics. Rear end comin together. This is one of the sexiest boxes I've done IMO. What you guys think? Note the HORRENDOUSLY ugly couch. I ended up not liking how it looked when you could see perfectly into/alll the way thru the box w/ the seats down so i sanded the plexi JL logos w/ 2000grit to give em a "frosty" look and light up better w/ the neons in. Startin to wire em up. If you saw already One amp went on each side, here's how they came about: So thats the 4 channel flushed on one side Next is the Ref 500 for the subs on the other side Few other final angles of the other side I think THIS is the most complete shot I took cuz the owner was gettin bitchy bout gettin his truck back. I had to mash and finish it up quickly so no lighted pix (actually had to wait on the lights he was so impatient on gettin his ride back so i gave it to em w/ no lights) AND....he kinda forgot to mention that the deck he had in had a DEAD sub out/RCA so i spent a lot of much needed time tryin to fig out why I had NO signal to the subs and THEN after bitching me out about it and threatening not to pay me...He said "Oh yea The sub rca is dead, but I'mma get it warrentied"... I was like :ranting2: :ranting2: No more "Pay me when it's done"...now it's $$ up front. All in all it came out ok I think. I still like the box and it sounded GOOD. Not CRAZY loud, But great SQ and loud enough to PWN folks in traffic...sum folks anyhoo. Downside: He pretty much trashed it from what I heard. Took it out to go camping and left it in his garage where is cat attacked it and pissed on it something retarded. So it goes. This was one of my first SERIOUS builds, before my car even. Lemme know what you guys think. LSN2meBoom916
NAH NAH NAH MAN! This is an old build I just got busy scannin in my pics for anybody who was interested after I got the "Nomination" for the system of the month from Steve, when the admins/mods get it up n runnin. This is maybe a few years ago I built the Bronco so I have a router now, and a bunch of round over bits. I 'm actually sure i HAD one back then and used it I think i was just "cleaning up" the edges so it's be all smooth before I started spraying it up. I filled in the srew holes and sanded them (not the corners per se) then it got rhino linered then fleckstone sprayed, then I clear coated that for protection. The whole build was a learning process since I was still kinda noob to big builds and just honing my skills w/ the tools. Pretty sure I had JUST bought a table saw at that point and thats my workhorse now. Only thing I still need sre some jasper cutout jigs for doin circles. Till then I rock a decent circle out w/ my jigsaw. Jigsaw FTW. Thnx fer checkin the pics, I'mma put MY car and the full builds on the 300zx and an RSX I did up once I finish scanning pics.
