I too am glad it got delayed. We need the Gov. to be accountable for our money.

I say, let the next president make the decision, then he has to live with the consequences...doen't that make sense?

I have been reading about this for a minute, I love this quote

One lawmaker who voted against the bill, Rep. John Culberson, R-Texas, said the measure would leave a huge burden on taxpayers. "This legislation is giving us a choice between bankrupting our children and bankrupting a few of these big financial institutions on Wall Street that made bad decisions," he said. Culberson voted against the bill.

Im glad it got voted down. People make bad decisions and it costs them. Why bail these greedy corporations out for theirs?

I've read a suggestion that the 700bil be split between every citizen (like the economy booster checks) and he seemed to predict a really good future. basically everybody pays off their homes, debt drops and mortgage companies get their moneiz back. Extra $ gets shot either into banks or into local economy.

i wish i had a link to quote but i dont- i'll look into that now.
