EricM9104
Your best bet would be to go with an AMD Phenon processor because they have the unlocked multipliers and are in the 2-300 price range. They are quad core. And the Intel Quad core with the unlocked multipliers is in the price range of 1500$. I personally am an Intel fan but that processor is a hell of a deal. You can get great prices on 4gb of ram no a days too. If running SLI you should go with a 650+ watt PSU that is SLI certified. I really like Zalman CPU coolers as well. All copper with copper piping and a nice sized fan up on there for like 70 bucks is leet You mean failnom? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16819115034 BIG front side bus, 12MB cache, and DDR3 ftw! i believe the xeons are crazy chips too http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16813131292 how about 3 way SLI? Mobo's incompatible with that CPU. my friend was sayin something about AMD announcing something today, possibly them shutting up shop due to legal problems.Yup.. AMD and ATi are splitting up. Slinky
dont waste 1500 bucks on a processor. just get one of the newer amd quad cores and a decent board like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16813186152 and youll be good to go. oh yeah http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814130365 heres your video card Quote DD M4 Rockford Fosgate P500-4 SoundQubed HDC415 w carbon fiber cap 2 Rockford Fosagate T1675-S XS Power D3400 Under Hood XS Power D5100 in rear Michael Singer 200A Alt Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/153901-2012-veloster-update-842013-wall-build-4-15s/

Btrash
I would not go with AMD right now, they have been performing much lower than Intel as of lately. Used to be that AMD was more bang for your buck, but that isn't the case anymore. Intel is also going more towards 45 nm, where AMD is still at 65 nm. Would go with core 2 quad of your choice ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList....Core%202%20Quad ) and paired with an Asus P5Q of your choice ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList....2&name=ASUS )

Moti
Any extreme edition intel processors is pointless. Unless you're a crazy over clocker. Personally you can get a hell of a OC on their regular processors. I would go with a intel e8600 a 3.33ghz dual core w/ a 6mb cache. If you're looking for a decent quad core a Q9450 or q9300 will work perfectly. As far as amd a Phenom 9950 BE quad core should work perfectly fine, it's only 173ish on newegg. If you can wait amd is releasing their 45nm parts later this year.
Moti
Actually AMD and ATI are NOT splitting up. AMD owns ati, amd straightened out ATI. Currently ATI/AMD has the fastest cards on the market. Simply they're going to have a design company and a manufacturing company. The management is kinda fucked.
