I was giving a demo today, and a guy said his friend in an S-10 hit 180db with 2 15"s. I asked the brand and said he didn't know. And that he sold the 15"s for 4 L7 10"s. hmmmm

i went to my buddie's room for a tapemeasure to check how big a box i could fit into my car for the next project. i was infront of a dorm so my volume was low enough that with our heads in the trunk we could talk to eachother. some girl saw the subs and started talking about how her boyfriend works for jl audio and got her the best setup available and blahblahblah...sealed 10inch w3 in a blazer, told me how it knocks and such, so i gave her a demo and she went on about how if she wins competitions i could win championships.

I always think of this one guy who said when he was younger he had 4 12inch alpine type s's with 600 watts that hit 168deebeez. He sat in our company car at a carshow one day (idr the mic setup, it got a 154 at waterfest, 5cvx's with 5k watts in a gti) needless to say it was the loudest thing he's ever heard and refused to believe it was just a 150something.

this girl who worked at the local deli got a 600w koiler amp, 2 1000w max 12's in a sealed box, and the 8guage install they give you at the fleamarket where she bought everything and had it installed. I told her it would blow in a few days, the next week it did, and we gave her our old stuff.

tis true i know but what he was getting at is running your subs at a lower imp is bad for the subs and that you have to run them at the highest ohm you can get or you'll blow your shit and it will sound bad

I love it when dumb asses throw out retarded sizes of speakers talking like they know what's up. I was at a job interview the other day and this dude was trying to tell me that his buddy had a pair of 20" subs and they've shattered his window 5 times already. I get sick of those people and I just smile and try and change the subject instead of flaming them to death. The only time I'll argue with someone about stuff like that is when they actually know something about audio, like the installers at best buy or circuit city. I love busting them guys out. They act like they know every fucking thing in the universe about car audio cause they install for $11 an hour at a big box store. Oh well even idiots need jobs

i just do my best to ignore it and recommend that they check this site out,...because explaining that their sony 12's are 1300 maxx not rms and that if they had any where close to 1300rms that they would be cooked and then i get a long blank stare and i give up and tell them to come here a read it will do some good this is my source of info and i try to absorb it all
