Nightshade
IM not sure why your upset nightshades I was just giving you some credit, not blaming you. WOW! This went crazy fast. I didnt want to take the credit away from you.Sorry bro. I took it as you were pawning it off on me because it wasn't doing the numbers you expected. I don't think I went crazy but sorry if it looked that way. Listen to Charger if he's willing to lend a hand. He seems to have a bit more first hand experience than I do about the rex's. I can only tell you what people have told me and like I said I tried to figure out more but no one was willing to give up any info. It's really hard to get a rex owner's secrets on how they make their rides loud because it's easy for another person to apply it to their car and get as loud without much effort. 2013 VW Jetta GLI 2.0 Turbo 1 Sundown Audio SCV2000 1 Sundown Audio X15 V2 1 XS Power D3100 Audio Control LC6i Stock Deck 146.4 sealed on the dash at 37hz 2001 Focus ZX3: RETIRED Team Sundown Audio, Team XS Power, 2 time NSPL Car 3601-Up Champion, 2 time NSPL Car Hardcore ChampionHighest NSPL Scores to date:154.3db on the dash sealed at 46hz, 156.2db in the kick at 46hz155.2db unofficial on dash at 43hz

daddy_j
are you freaking kidding me. Dosent duct tape leave a sticky film? Anyways what kinda numbers are you getting out of that spoonge bob box, and at what frequency? As I said from the begining, I will take advise from anyone who might know what they are talking about. and thank you nightshades for all your help. Well today I upgraded to 8gauge. I went from 12gauge to 8gauge. That is the biggest my amp and woofers will take. I think with that and a new alternator, I'll be well pass 150dbs, by at least a 0.2-0.3dbs. Remember I still have the factory alt. I havent done anything to the sunroof either, so I know there are still things I need to do.
Charger
Changing a little bit of speaker wire won't do squat as far as a huge quick gain. Your box sucks (sorry) but if you change it you'll be amazed by the gain you get. Then you can start doing the small things... The box peaks at 64Hz but is tuned lower than that.... daddy_j
so what numbers are you putting up? still wondering. I know their high, just how high?
daddy_j
so what numbers are you putting up? still wondering. I know their high, just how high? Still wondering what kinda of numbers your putting up? You criticize my box but dont say what your hitting? Anyways, I hit 151.6dbs today on a termlab. The only thing I did was change to 8gauge wires and took out the panelling from the hatch area. Everything else is stock, no dynomatt, or anything else missing in the car. Im not sure if anyone even cares about the numbers, but just giving an update. I know I need a couple more batteries and a new HO alternator. And a ton of dynomat. Im gonna try and get 155dbs with the box I built. My voltage still drops down from 14.4 to 10.8volts. SO if I can keep my voltage up and add some dynomat I will be able to get into the 153~154 range. My original goal was 150dbs, but now my goal is 155dbs with the amp and subs I have now. Thanks nightshades for all your help with the box. Oh yeah I forgot about me adding some flares to my ports that should gain me some too.
Nightshade
Good job. I'm happy that you got over the origional goal that you had set for yourself. Just keep working with what you got and I'm sure that it's only going to get louder.
