BJD3
I'm looking at an amp that outputs the same RMS wattage at both 2 ohms and 4 ohms. About that I have two questions: 1. If I do end up buying it, would it be better to run at 2 ohms or 4 and, 2. Why? Sorry for the onslaught of noobish questions, but I want to make sure I'm getting the most for my extremely limited funds. Anti Peel and Seal...lol You may be offended by the above. Don't take it personally, I'm just abrasive. 2002 Buick Park Avenue DC Level 4 M2 12 D2 Car Audio Bargain 1600.1 Eclipse CD3200 ~2 cubes @ 34 hz. Someone correct me if I am wrong in any of this. Loud as f*ck, and sounds good doing it. Team built from here on out!!!! BIG things to come......... Missing link is the shite!!! Correct! as far as I know JL has the market on the RIPS aka regulated internal power supply. anywhere between 2 ande 4 ohms IIRC its going to putout the same wattage. EDIT: IIRC its actually between 1.5 and 4 ohms. BJD3
Another question, what would the pros and cons be of running an amplifier with a regulated power supply? I understand you wouldn't be able to raise or drop the resistance to eek more power out, but besides that what problems could I run into getting an amplifier with a regulated power supply vs. one without?
