donsie Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 My subs actually seem louder in the winter. And they serve as a snow brush for my trunk by vibrating all the snow off chicken is basically the native american hulk, you think he broke that curb with his rim? think again, that was merely him stubbing his toe.
knowledge Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 i let mines bang with out warming up, and nothing. so i say is fine! REFF'SMy linkEBAYhttp://feedback.ebay...ck&myworld=trueI love car audio so much because I will never be done. I can never win, and I will never get it finished or perfect. Mosin Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 I let mine warm up by playing at a low volume as my engine warms up in the morning. (10 min.) Derp.
Toxiccasper Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 No reason to warm them up, that doesnt make any sense the subs are designed to stay as cool as possible
bassboombottom Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 cold air compresses more so your system puts out a higher db compared to a hot summer day when I used to compete I turned the air conditioner on then charged the batteries up before a run I would figure its louder in warm weather when the air is easy to move, and less stress on your woofers. Thats what i get for being a noob 8v fury said:

bassboombottom Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 As long as my subs don't shatter or crumble when i turn my shit up, im fine 8v fury said:
tacomabanga1986 Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 ive asked this i think last year on here and some say that when the voice coil is cold it preforms better but as most ppl kno cold stuff is alot more brittle than hot or warm, and i think it depends on what subs are made of cause one guy on here had a set of tc 3500 12's that when he woke up in the mornin they would be dew on the cone, now when its cold im not sure how subs react in diff climates i kno that if its cold they will stay cooler longer and yes cold air compresses more so ya its louder but i unno how efficent it would be but i dont think a car will get that cold on the inside with the dampining on the inside but ya 20degreez is ok i think but ive never had a problem yet but my subs are on the inside of my truck so ya there cabbin temp but trunks tend to be colder than the cabbin so i unno, maby someone needs to stick a sub ina freezer n then jam out with it n see what it does visa versa if any harm comes to it? i do kno in the morning my subs aint as loud as my mids n highs prolly cause they aint warmed up yet cause i can tell a huge diff from morning temp and evening temp, when i go to work in the morning there not as loud but when i get in my truck after work there alot louder than they was, so i think when its cold the spiders are more stiffer than warm so i dont think its that much harmfull to the sub but i wouldn't be brutle on them tho cause the cone might crack as ive heard of some subs cone cracking from cold weather here's a link to my system 99 toyota tacoma , 2 mtx 8000 1504's in a sealed downfire , 1000w memphis amp here's a link to my other system my 90 geo prizm test car heres a thread i got of new songs u can dl that are legal = Some Good Bangage/you Can Dl These Free And Legit
HHR Ed Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 I would figure its louder in warm weather when the air is easy to move, and less stress on your woofers. Thats what i get for being a noob actually, its not true. temperature has no direct effect on SPL. though temperature will effect resonant frequency of an enclosure and vehicle cabin, and temperature can effect efficiencies of amplifiers and subwoofer voice coils. But when you adjust for temp differences, you should hit the same SPL everytime. Case in point; My peak SPL at 65 deg F and above is 153.2 @ 39 hz. My peak SPL at 40 deg F to 50 deg F is 153.2 @ 42 hz.
