Bumpindemlowzz Posted November 30, 2008 Author Report Posted November 30, 2008 Yeah i will have to double up on the mdf and figure out the tuning aspect of it. So all you guys think i only need a single 200+ alt and two powermaster xs 3100 batts to power a rockford t40001bd? 2010 Silverado 18" DC XL 18 DC 2k XS Power Batts
babyjoker Posted November 30, 2008 Report Posted November 30, 2008 if your box has to be designed like that, i think you should consider making it a bandpass box. 1999 Eclipse N/T 12'' Fi BTL Gp3000d PM D3100
BAGGEDBIRDS.com Posted November 30, 2008 Report Posted November 30, 2008 looks to me like a ported box that you slot loaded. Other than the wood thickness being a possible issue. From what I have heard and tried on slot loaded boxes the slot opening should be 1/2 the woofer dia. as a starting point. SO you would be 9". i would be worried about choking it out. V1G1LANT3 Posted November 30, 2008 Report Posted November 30, 2008 that's a pretty cool design..just don't think it would work for the sub like they said.
Bumpindemlowzz Posted December 2, 2008 Author Report Posted December 2, 2008 Do you guys think it would be for the best just to go with a 18" Fi Bl fully loaded? The reason i dont want a regular blowthough is because they are huge. It does look like i would have to make the slot a bit bigger like 6 inches... With this sub i would now go with a rockford t10001bd amp with 0 gauge and 2 batts. Should i use a high output alternator? I dont think i would need one... 2010 Silverado 18" DC XL 18 DC 2k XS Power Batts
Bumpindemlowzz Posted December 2, 2008 Author Report Posted December 2, 2008 I was reading fi website and they say by fully loading their subwoofers they can get an extra 200-500 rms. So i may go with a sundown SAZ-1500D and wire it at 1 ohm. Also if i get a couple powermaster batts do i have to get a high output alternator? I think the batteries would be enough cause 1500 watts isnt much. Any help is appreciated cause im trying to get this system done. Thks 2010 Silverado 18" DC XL 18 DC 2k XS Power Batts
travo19 Posted December 2, 2008 Report Posted December 2, 2008 I would go all out bud! That setup dont seem to be able to work at is optimum level but I would do something like this. Also for 3k to 4k rms you could get away with 2 medium size batteries and one 200amp alt. But if your plannin on a BTL I would get the sundown 3k.. It will really make that sub shine:D Ascendant Audio 8 AA Havoc 15's in a 4th order
Bumpindemlowzz Posted December 5, 2008 Author Report Posted December 5, 2008 Im afraid to cut a huge hole in the truck!! Someone answer my previous question with the sundown saz1500d. DO I HAVE TO GET A HIGH OUTPUT ALTERNATOR. I'm already ordering a BIG Powermaster bat. A few said that the amp is really efficient and doesnt draw too much power. 2010 Silverado 18" DC XL 18 DC 2k XS Power Batts
jonathancullen89 Posted December 5, 2008 Report Posted December 5, 2008 it depends.... if your stock alternator is really low like a 60 amp yes you should get a new alt. if your alt puts out a decent amount of power and has enought to power to keep up and charge ur batts you should be fine. to many what ifs 1992 cavalier build 1992 blazer s10 kenwood cd hifonics hfi2500d 6 soon to be 12 12" hifonics hfi12d4's shit ton-o-wire Blurred Vision Audio Team SMD feedback/refs. clicky!-
