A lil while back my the radiator in my Exploder cracked wide open so it overheated and blew a head gasket. Since then I've been working on swapping in a new engine.

Tearing apart the old motor.

The two engines side by side. They're both 4.0L blocks but they're from different generations so the wiring harnesses aren't the same. I'm in the process now of swapping the Explorer harness onto the donor engine.

Pile o' parts. Anybody need any parts from a '95 Ford Ranger?

After slacking a bit this past week it's ready to go back in. The wiring harness, driver's side exhaust manifold, upper intake manifold, coolant sensor, engine oil sensor, and oil pan all had to be swapped over to the donor engine. Also the flywheel has been resurfaced and a new clutch kit installed. Everything is bolted together ready to drop back in tomorrow. Tomorrow afternoon and Sunday will be spent getting everything put back together. It should be running Sunday evening.

If needed we can swap an engine & trans in a weekend (2 days). We've really been taking our time with this one though. I've been off work now for 2 weeks cause of the holidays and still don't go back until Wendesday plus my Expo is my competition truck and the next comp isn't until January 24th so no need to rush it. I actually competed with it at 2 events with a blown headgasket puffing smoke like crazy and I also Bass Raced it at both those events.

are you gonna use the alternator off of your old engine as a second one on the new engine?? hell its a free alternator and it will give you more amps for your system

And far as the best connection ever.......

get a huge fucking battery, cut the top off, drop an alt in there and then pour all that into your big amplifier. or just smelt them all together.

That would be a no but I will be holding onto it for possible future use. I have a nice 200a that works well with my current setup.
