Im about the purchase a hifonics sampson 8,000 watt amp

does it do its rated power

heres whats on my mind im stuck between two rocks

i can either get 4 hifonics brutush bxi2408d's and a maxxilink

or one sampson....

what would be a better setup im trying to push a wall of 4 18" hdc3's copper coils.....

what will be the power needs and differences

and another thing the guy thats selling me these said i can return the brutus's back n forth lifetime warranty but i have to go directly through hifonics for a sampson warranty....

get back at me....

4 brutus 2400w's ='s $1200

1 sampson = $1475

am i making the right choice or should i look into something else to get 8,000w rms

The XX and XXV line of hifonics is underrated (they do more than rated power) and I personally would do the Sampson over the Brutus.....just for ease of wiring.

I will sell you a sampson for less than that, only problem is they dont do well in daily systems if you dont keep them cool, you have to set up fans and what not otherwise they will overheat and blow up. as far as power goes 1 in my van (18 volts) does well over 10K

But Ive seen them new out of the box only last a hour in a daily set up. there designed for burps. last I talked with Mike at hifonics they were making changes to it so it would work daily with no problems, i dont know if they have yet or not. might wanna ask

I have 2 of the Goliaths and I will tell you they are very, very, very...... did I say very, very power hungry. Unless you have a super electrical system to feed them, You will find getting full power an issue.

I've had issues with the Maxximus being used as a daily as well. It did the same thing the Sampson does. But the Goliaths have done much better and I haven't seen any issues from them.

not many cars can get me to pluggin my ears but this one.......damn. I mean the first minute is ok but that thing just really starts digging deeper and deeper in your earhole till you cant stand it no more. Seems like it does it with relative ease....16 12's on 8 amps.........gotta love it. :)

The Sampson gets very hot very quickly, something to do with the design not 'idling' efficiently I believe.

I also doubt somewhat that it'll do 8000wrms in a 14.4/12v system.

IMO 4 BXi's are a better option. Less impedance rise, easier to fit in the vehicle, and if something goes wrong you only blow one of the 4 amps instead of 1 enormous and very expensive to repair one.
