dwright27 Posted March 18, 2009 Report Posted March 18, 2009 well, im thinking of buying 100' of the 0 gauge from a friend for $100 shipped and was wondering why its so cheap. is the strand count not high or is it not true 0 gauge? ive never used it so im not sure if its what im going to want it to be. how does it compare to the knu KLMX wire? 2006 F-150 4 DC XL M2 18's Walled Daily Driver XS Power 4 DC 3.5kw Team DC Team S.P.L. kentb Posted March 18, 2009 Report Posted March 18, 2009 strand count doesn't really matter much because some have lower strand count but each strand is bigger, so there fore the capacity is still the same. tell him to get you a picture of a cross section of the wire New System 2 10" Fi SSD, Sundown 1500d Build I build and design enclosures(cheap price), PM ME Kicker L7 Navigator(plexiglass, fiberglass, aeroport) Build BTL 18" Escalade(plexiglass, battery tray) Build http://www.kentbaudio.com Old System
LoudBlazer Posted March 18, 2009 Report Posted March 18, 2009 I would think 2 runs of it would supply your needs for power. I wish I had another run of what I have! 1997 2 Door Blazer Bagged & Body Dropped SBC/TH350

But more strands is better than less but bigger strands.
RamenNoodles Posted March 19, 2009 Report Posted March 19, 2009 No strand count plays a big role in the wire. its best to have a lot of small strands then less big strands. electrons flow on those strands. Its a very important factor in wiring actually. More strands, easier electrons can flow throughout the wire. Diablo Audio Technologies Fi Car Audio Ascendant Audio

audiofanaticz Posted March 19, 2009 Report Posted March 19, 2009 DB Link wire is crap.. We got some at the shop if you want compairisons of it. Ill grab photos tomorrow of it agains knukoncetpz flex, stinger pro, tusomi for sure. Your 1/0 db link is all casing, the wire is easily compaired to a Stinger 4 gauge wire but with way more casing... It can maybe handle a 200 amps if the wire is 10 feet long or shorter.... Knu klmx is at least 2 or 3 times better.
