You will probably disagree with me but those wire looms look like crap and will look out of place. raytard Posted May 7, 2009 Report Share Posted May 7, 2009 so far in my house, i've drilled a hole behind my entertainment center in the corner under the radiator (so its like as hidden as possible even if we decide down the road to move the position) and ran all the wires down there, through the basement, and then up through equally well hidden holes in the respective corners of the room (so happens we have desks/bookshelves/end tables so no wires are seena nd the speakers have somewhere to go) in my mom's house, i used the smallish gauge stuff they give you and tucked it between the molding and carpet with a bigass flathead screwdriver...no damage, not construction, and can be removed, but its all hidden, only hard part was I had to unscrew a doorjamb, put the wire under it, and screw it back down, wires are mounted high on hangars, so the wire was run along the door door to 2 (so its all but hidden, little finishing tacks hold it in and speaker sits basically on top of door molding), the other two are ontop of bookshelves, so the wire was just run up the back where noone will see it. just get creative.... I dont know about you but during the whole house building process I wasnt concerned about home theater wiring. I was more concerned about the other shit that has to happen in order to move in. not to mention that I had no idea which way anything was going to be setup once it was completed so why would I have it done and then change up my living room. Not to mention im not going to pay some one to wire my house when i can do it myself. Until the wife squashes that shit.
