Nightshade Posted May 25, 2009 Report Posted May 25, 2009 Hey man, just by looking that broken roof brace is one thing that is probably hurting your score quite a bit. I've heard people losing as much as 2 db over a broken roof brace. Not to mention that you probably don't have a spare tire in the tire well either. The spare tire in the well helps to stiffen the weakness of the tire well alltogether. When you take it out that part of the car gets very weak and will hurt your score too. Also you need to find the car's resonant frequency since you added the deadener to the vehicle. By adding deadener you will more than likely lower the car's freq and the best way to find it is to take a 10" or 12" sub and put it in a 1 cube sealed box and play a sweep to find out the loudest freq. The sealed box will have a flat response so it will show you which freq your car likes the best. Then I would rebuild the setup to peak around that particular frequency so you can maximize spl. One of my Team High X-Cursion members has the same body style Civic and has 2 Alpine Type R 12's and a Power Acoustik something or another clamping 1780 watts and he's done a 146.4 on the dash sealed. He just sealed off the box from the trunk and the score has gone up, but we won't say what it is until after a show in a couple of weeks since there are rival competitors on here that would probably like to know. If you need any help at all I'd be glad to give you any advice if your stuck on something, or just need a hand trying to figure something out. I see ton's of potential in your vehicle and I'd love to help you achieve whatever it is that you want. Good luck, and I'm tuned in from now on!!! 2013 VW Jetta GLI 2.0 Turbo 1 Sundown Audio SCV2000 1 Sundown Audio X15 V2 1 XS Power D3100 Audio Control LC6i Stock Deck 146.4 sealed on the dash at 37hz 2001 Focus ZX3: RETIRED Team Sundown Audio, Team XS Power, 2 time NSPL Car 3601-Up Champion, 2 time NSPL Car Hardcore ChampionHighest NSPL Scores to date:154.3db on the dash sealed at 46hz, 156.2db in the kick at 46hz155.2db unofficial on dash at 43hz

Sampsonite Posted May 29, 2009 Author Report Posted May 29, 2009 Ya, no thanks.. I don't want to play in the extreme classes Quick update.. Rebuilt the box with the space I had to work with..... went from: 144.6 @ 41hz legal to 145.0 @ 38hz legal Still need to deaden the whole car (other than roof obviously), add 45's to the box and port, Seal box off from trunk completely, Add another battery to the front, Do big 3..... ect. ect. Not bad for 2 12's in a box tuned to 30 hz. Sorry no pics, cuz its UGLY right now! --Sampson 816-591-6592 www.kcrimshop.com
