sean 371
i got all of 10 min to listen to it so far. those with little kids know. its louder than my sealed 15's were. i didnt mess with the gain between the switch of the boxes for a comparison and an that amp got pretty hot in 10 min.I might be crazy, but it seams tighter with more punch on bass drum kicks. is that possible with a ported box compaired to a selaed box? the port is on the driver side and i did some bassmeckanic songs, it was like a fan behind my head with the air out of that port. No noise that i can hear yet. definatly need some more time in the seat with these. A properly built ported box (like yours) can have just about all the high points of a sealed box. I personally would never go back to sealed unless it was a space consideration. Ported just gives so much versatility with the sound. That box isn't super big for 2 12's, which should be contributing to the crisp response you mentioned. BAGGEDBIRDS.com
Still sounds good - I'm pushing forward into the pretty stages. I made some templates of what would fit around the speakers. I should have located the centers on another panel before i cut them out so know i have to figure it all out. I used my Jasper jig on some cardboard squars and taped them to the larger panel so they fit exactly. Now i can transfer this to the panel i will make. This is just the start. Have to get some materials tommorow beyond the side of this panel will be sealed also but they will come later. they will be more permanent. 1st SMD "System of the Month" Feb. 2007 Zapco Studio 500 (2) Zapco Studio 300X Zapco Studio 204 (2) (2) FI 12ssd's w/ copper coils DLS Iridium Tweeters DLS UR2.5 MidRange FI.
