Competition sound works in LA home of a few of the best installers in the world. top ten installers and top 50 store year after year. That was a very sad day. The economy is in the shitter right now and isn't rebounding yet, luxuries such as car audio are very low on the average consumers priority list right now. Many businesses are dying right now...it isn't a time where you can point blame to a particular group...it is sad that good installers lost their work, but good restaurants did too. It's not the internet, it's the economy, and we are in a business that depends on a thriving economy. I know it is hard on people especially on guys like you who own businesses, but the big picture is showing that the entire world is going out of business right now...And I am someone who is willing to pay a decent amount more to know I am supporting a shop that will treat me well. I mean you guys are all saying shows are disappearing...if internet sales are the reason shops are doing so bad, why would the shows have a lower turnout? It has nothing to do with shop sales, it has to do with the fact that people can't afford to buy new products, or even go to shows. I for one went to my first show in over a year, just a week ago, because it was the first time I had ANY money to spend... A vitrolic, megalomaniacal sadistic psychopath. LordArcane Posted June 26, 2009 Report Share Posted June 26, 2009 i get a sense of both sides, do i work at audio biz no but i worked as semi mechanic, and well its been over a year since i work they have to let all but 4 mechanics go becuz the truckers could afford to rent or lease the trailers and couldn't afford to come to us for repairs at this same time 3 other shop went out of biz for the simple fact NO ONE has money to spend right now, shop or customers both sides are feeling the pitch, like myself i buy cheap power acoustik stuff cuz thats all i can afford and i'm still getting most of the sound i want, as its going right now i might have to sell my alpine subs for the money and buy some pa's and use the money left to pay bills. i would love to be able to have the money to buy some dc, re, or fi subs and some nicer amps but i just can do it. and i would really love it to be able to go to a shop and listen to them fist see new ideas and items they got and buy from them but as for now its just not something myself and alot of us can do... i didn't want to post but after reading it i figure it won't hurt to show people my side of things and maybe others are in the same boat as me Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
