well to tell you the truth i thought that all these other brands were POS until i read up on them man.Its like its been stated like so many times Dc,FI,AA,Tc,Sundowns,and all these others ones are not mainstream.shit i thought JL audio was the shit until i learned all these other brands so dont expect everyone to know all of them.

kinda realizing this as well....wish I did more research before spending $800 for my alpines. I've worked enough places to say that the average salesman knows jack sh$t about any product that he doesn't sell. Back in the day Petras were great woofers but not that many people had even heard about them, now it is DC, FI and the likes of them that are kicking ass and not very well known outside the SPL world. Five years ago I would have told you that it was a waste of money to put in a HO alt because they were not nearly as cost effective but now for someone to tell you that it is a waste of money is ridiculous. This guy is obviously in it for the money, blow him off and move on you will be better off.

I guess im a lucky one, one of my friends opened up his own shop, and he listens to me for advice on what to get and whatnot, told him about XS Batts.. Knu wire.. DC/Sundown/DAT and once he gets more established hes going to be doing business with them

i see u like mtx stuff also, i like there lower end stuff, i got 2 mtx 8000 15's n 2 mtx 5500 1544's with memphis pr1000.1 n unno what to run as my new setup

but i hate shops that dont kno shit when u ask them about things n there like wtf is that?

they was a cool shop in the other city beside the one i live in that sold some good shit n kept buisness but now they went to jl audio, alpine, n kenwood or somethin like that n there parking lots stay empty, looks closed 4days out of the week, $80 for a set of rcas is stupid, the most i ever pay is $30-$40, n local shop sold me some 8guage speaker wire for $3 a foot but due to it being real speaker wire i can see it being that much, 1.50 for the pos side, and 1.50 for the neg side

but u gotta look at it this way, they got rent to pay, food to put on the table, power bill to pay, installers to pay, n to buy inventory to keep it goin, but if they get headunits for around $50 or so wholesale that we get em for $150 on the net n mark em up to 300 is bullshit in any book, i think shops should be reasonable with prices to keep ppl comein back, but the way the economy is now a days they cant sell soemthin they get for $5 for $6

but then again most shops aint got time to look on the net of newer brands out there

What's great about it: Nothing

What's not so great: Over a dollar per watt

"This amp is awful for 3 reasons

1) 700 bucks for 500 watts rms

2) not 1 ohm stable <---- It says it is 1 ohm stable

3) Nowhere near enough power to push a real sub, not even enough for my single 12"

I know Exactly what you mean, the guy at the local shop has heard of DC and doesnt think they are very good, I told him I am gonna be running 2 DC LVL4XL's each off of its own Kicker ZX.1500 putting about 1800rms a piece to them, So then he tried to sell me a pair of 13W7's saying that they will get louder than the DC's, In my mind I was thinking I dont even think the JL's would take 1800 a piece, but like you I just said I will condsider them and left, also I went in there one day to get some ring terminals for a Big 3 upgrade I was doing, then he tried to sell me some of the terminals with the allan screw deal that you screw down to hold the wire in, telling me that I would get a better connection, than if I were to Solder the ends on, once again I just got my terminals and left, that was the instance that made me really question the local shops knowledge about audio when he told me "This screw down ring terminal is a better connection, than soldering it, soldering doesnt make a good connection for big wire".
