siucsaluki11 Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 the copper coil version. for 250 dollars. YES. it is an even better sub when equipped with the aluminum coil. and if you plan on giving it anymore than 1500 rms you will want the aluminum. while this is good to go by in general. Guy from Team D.O.A. has 4 HDC3 15s walled in a maxima, AQ3500D on each in 18 cubes tuned to 36Hz i think. He said hes going back to copper coils, they take the power just as well (in his opinion) and sound better. woman..cant live with em...cant shoot em...guess were all fucked You might be a Redneck if you use your leftover gutters for a speaker box port... Their copper coils can take WAY MORE THEN RATED, and I've "heard" sound DAMN good doing it. I love my staffie So anti FACEBOOK it isn't even funny
Decaf Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 you would benefit from the old coppers for the power u are using... they will get the loudest off the least power hell invert coppers and i bet theyd cool off as fast as aluminum in the box and the coppers sound better
Basshead08 Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 If you're gonna get one you better hurry. Dj doesn't have many left for the sale. System tear out has begun...Out with the old i have a iq of 128 i graduated at the top of my class tell me how im reatrded you are the 1 thats dumb as hell you can't even spell Look at the underlined text hahahahahahahaha I think of it as the virgin losing the virginity technique not just jumping in to it, and pounding away, but going at it slowly over time, to get to that full extreme
J00bles Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 what do u mean by the sub was waving? as in the suspension was being rocked... in that case maybe it was the box moreso than the subthink about that. if you tune your box to 35-40, and play ANY frquency lower than that; the subs will have over excursion and get sloppy. thats a good way to blow a sub (i would know, ive done it) the reason the cone was waving is because the sub was seeing a lot of power while playing a note lower than it should. the lighter cone material is partially to blame as well.just make sure to set your subsonic control correctly to prevent bad things from happening. i like these subs a lot regardless of how much power they take. for the money, they really cant be beat by the other companies out there. 8 DC Level 4 M2 15s2 DC Audio 5ks26^2 clamshell tuned to 30hz9 Kinetik 1400sMechman externally reg'd 340 S seriesin a 99 Jeep Cherokee Click to see J00bles' Youtube Channel

mlstrass Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 I have the Altima with the 4 15" alum coil HDC's off a 3500 each. Box is 36Hz and I play "trunk bang" at full tilt and the low note is 31Hz. I've talked to DJ numerous times and he feels the new copper coils will do better off my actual clamped power as I'm not close to 3500 each with box rise/voltage drops. As for them being tough, after I won the WGCI show yesterday I literally demo'd for 20+ minutes at full tilt. Subs held up fine but my left ear didn't. I'll post the vid that Decaf took at the show on Saturday.
mlstrass Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 Let me try this again. "trunk bang" low note of 31Hz in a box tuned to 36Hz... AQ Subs
