audiofanaticz
My mom has been needing a upgrade, Usaully I can sell her some old stuff of mine, and upgrade mine She been looking in the 600-650 range prebuilts, and I told her to just take my tower and buy me new parts. Still got to talk to her on what she will pay for mine, guessing around $500ish with a fresh copy of windows So Im looking for parts under the 650 range needing ( CPU, PSU, HDD, MOBO, RAM, CASE) going to reuse my EVGA 9800GTX and sli it sooner or later (and give my mom a new XFX 9600GT thats sitting in its box here. I love corsair, asus, evga, dfi amd, tho I dont have a amd/intel preference! So post up any good ideal budget builds!! I got one idea almost picked out if it will all work together for $643 not including shipping for 2 items, but all the rest are free shipping, and $35.00 worth of mail in rebates. audiofanaticz
Everyone likes those gigabyte boards huh? I never bought one, but I had a buddy that likes them but always had issues with them but that could be from his unstable overclocks as much as i know. They always looked appealing to the eye tho!! Also is Intel the way to go now? Most likelys I will oc the pc a good little bit The pc will mostly be used to play Counter Strike: Source, and get back on a main or invite team, but seems like my pc just bottlenecks me too much right now. Also forgot cable mangement is a must for the powersupply, seems like corsair all have that Heres what I thru together. CPU: AMD Phenom II X2 550 Black Edition Callisto 3.1GHz (Seems like people are unlocking the other 2 cores for a quadcore processor)? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16819103680 MOBO: ASUS M4A78T-E AM3 AMD 790GX HDMI http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16813131366 RAM: CORSAIR XMS3 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820145250 HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 ST31000528AS 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16822148433 PSU: CORSAIR CMPSU-520HX 520W ATX12V v2.2 and EPS12V 2.91 SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16817139001 CASE: LIAN LI Lancool PC-K56W Black http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16811112236

I'm going to buy the $190 one because it's the best bang for the buck. You would have plenty of upgrade room and it should run great. Quote My comp setup (Not bad for what it is): HP Compaq Presario V6120US laptop with: 15.4" widescreen AMD Turion 64 X2 1.6GHz processor 2x1GB stick DDR2 SDRAM (667 Mhz) Seagate Momentus 500GB SATA HDD 128MB shared video memory Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit 12 cell Lithium Ion battery (actual battery usage time: 6 hours) What it does: On a USB 2.0 Wireless card
kirill007
I would go with the config from newls 1, most up-to date hardware and high quality. If u don't want to pay that much, you can buy a intel e8400 and a gigabyte P45, and a good cooler. And overclock it to 3.8 or 4ghz. Quote Thinking is the root of all problems... You ALWAYS get what you pay for.

But I dont think Ill get what im looking for out of it, and the $470 kit would cost the same if not more once I add a case and psu, and the extra DDR2 ram stick.
