meade916 Posted September 13, 2009 Report Posted September 13, 2009 with two 15" HW dual .7 and two d9 @ .35 i did a 154.8 in the kick the first time i dropped the box in unfinished. There were plenty of people there. It took me by surprise. These were SPL version HWs also After adjusting and finishing the box and moving things around we got a 156.2 in the kick, peak hold music @ 48hz on mr. sche's new cd track #2. That box did high 154s on the dash every single day we tested. Plenty of people seen them scores. A guy on Team Relvolution, Robert Kollar helped me with the design on the box. When Johnathan heard the two 15s it was approx 154 on dash since i had swapped out to single spider ground pounder versions of the HWs. I personally rather sacrifice a little spl for a much cleaner sound and better response. But i have also built 99 boxes for my truck over the past 3 years and have matted the truck over and over and done other things to make the truck as solid as i can get it like replacing the bottom of the rear hatch with mdf, foamed all my pillars and everything else i could think of. I have always thought about going 4 d9 or @ 18v but what i have already tears my truck up were i have to buy new panels and various things all the time. Plus i am very competitive and dont want to get to were i feel i need to be the loudest out there. I will be very pleased when johnathans truck spanks me. It should without a dought. I have four 15" alphas in there now and it Slams alot harder to the ear but meters about the same. I will be going to HWs next week and see if i cant get a 57 in the kick but the HWs i am using are single spider like the alphas i am using and they have a 70mm tall coil. What i do is go for crowd loud 1rst. If it meters well than great. Many people think SPL #s = how loud a vehicle is. I dont beleive that. Sit in 10 vehicles that all do 150 tuned at 35hz. There will be some that sound much louder or carry much further and harder outside the vehicle than others. well then damn! that is retarded RETARDED loud for 2 15's those results arent typical for sure and you had to do serious work to get that loud NO DOUBT.
