dumb question but I just wanna make sure I am right

Recommended Posts

I have a pretty dumb question that I wanna get cleared up. my friend says he can power his 2 subs with a 2 channel amp down to .5 ohms without any problems. I told him otherwise, yet he still is convinced that he can do it. he thinks I can power my 1 ohm amp down to .5 ohms also. Please tell me I am right and he is wrong. Thank you!!!!
as long as his amp is .5 ohm stable and his subs have voice coil impedances that will allow it, no reason he can't. Same for your amp, so long as it's .5 ohm stable.

what 2 channel is .5 stable? lol

and sounds to me like you and your friend have no business running anything a .5..

Just a little for warning for you ;)

I'm no amp guru so I have no idea, but that doesn't change my answer. If his amp isn't .5 ohm stable then he can't run it like that, if it is then he can. Simple as that.

There is no 2 channel amp that has ever advertised to be stable down to .5
just because an amp isn't "advertised" to be stable down to .5 ohms doesn't mean it's not stable at that impedance.

Case in point: Orion HCCA 2100

Can we move on now?

why even bother you dont really get ahtt much voltage.the dude that owns sundown tried that when running his amps at .5 ohms he gained a little bit more power yes but it wasnt even clean power.and and youd need good if not decent electical to run your amp that low.

That's why they don't deliver.

Yer ass better go sit along the side of the road and wait.

You can't expect them to travel up some dirt road in a hick / back woods town. Thats how horror movies start :D

I explain things very simply and use analogies in terms of Pickles, and grape drink, pool noodles and jackhammers...if you can't put 2 and 2 together there man, There simply is not much more I can do.
