I wouldn't waste my money on an Audison amp unless I got it on a good deal. My RF amps suit me just fine. However my head units and speakers are top notch. I have heard close to 100 different amps and the majority of them sound the same. There are a few that were cleaner sounding than others. That may be than some of those amps put out slightly more power than the others.

Audison a waste?

WOW.

You must have fucked up ears to say RF sounds "good".

We were talking about the best SQ amps, not what you can "live with".

Once again, if YOU can;t hear the difference that's ok.. Not everybody can

Some people do hear differences and those are the people (wallet willing) that will drop cash on "great" gear.

Do me a favor though and name off the rest of your gear.

Shit a pic of the install would be awesome also.

SQ is very subjective from person to person but IMO the best SQ oriented amps made are Audison, Macintosh, and Zapco. I've owned Audison + Zapco amps in the past and they were worth every penny. Also I've heard a few Macintosh setups and was extremely impressed with the finished product(granted they were paired w/ very high dollar speakers, woofers, etc).

1998 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer... New setup, old ride... QX56 is staying stock til I get loud... It's only getting walled off if I don't meet my goal @ SBN.

There are no sq amps. All amps do is amplify the signal given to them from the head unit. It's better to spend more money on a quality head unit and speakers and buy a good amp from a quality company that is made with good parts that does it's rated power. It's true that some amps have lower distortion THD than others but the differences in levels between those amps is inaudible by human hearing. Anything under 10% is truly inaudible.

A lot of these amp companies and folks on EBAY make their money off of people believing this crap.

i really can't believe you just said that... you are now a known noob

Never a noobie. Only a fool would make that comment. Just because I do not agree with the theories that are being passed around about spending extra money on Sinfoni, Tru or MacIntosh amps doesn't make me a newbie. There was a time when I was in my 20's or even early 30's where I would have spent the extra money believing that garbage but not now. I would rather invest my money in a house, vacation or investment where I could get a better return on my money than buying some supposingly SQ amp. Not me buddy. I have actively been involved in car audio since 1989 running the Punch 45, 75 or 150 amps. I have been to more of the earlier sound competitions and have many friends that work in car audio shops and I hear all of the systems. I have used everything from Linear Power, ZED (old and new), heard MacIntosh & Audison amps and I can be objective. I don't want to cause a stir on this forum but I will believe what I want and if it offends some people I don't care. I will not waste my money on an Audison, Tru, Sifoni amp because the THD is lower, damping factor is higher, etc. The differences in sound are too minute for me to justify spending the extra money on this high end brands. Again, going from .01% to .003% THD is not audible to the ear. If I were to spend the extra money, again it would be on high quality speakers, head units or processors. I have just heard too many people with all of these high end brands get outperformed by people running mid level amps with high quality speakers and look like total idiots.

I respect you guys on the forum but do not care what you think of my opinions on these high end amps. At the end of the day, I would rather have $15,000+ in my bank account than inside my car where a person will never get back what they spent on that so-called high end equipment. I have been in the car audio game for 20+ years and I know better. I have nothing to prove to you guys and will not be putting pictures of my system online.

Have a nice evening.

remember that you can only hear the difference when your setup is installed correctly and geared toward using the least amount of processing possible. I am tired of people expecting great results without putting any damn effort into their install.
