Before all of the "looks like" posts pop up -- it is not based on any other motors. I think the top plate is almost 3x the thickness of the BL.

Nothing but some 220mm slugs..

It's not nearly 3" either...

I'm not talking bad about the BL Nick -- but obviously they are not the same or similar motors.

Maybe the TP just looked thin on the BLs I had (I didn't get a chance to measure them) - it looked like 12.5mm or so on the ones I had. This sub is 32mm thick. But it may be thicker than it looks on the BL -- and again, that is not a knock on the BL... just a difference in the design of the two motors.

Bummer, I just bought V1 Nightshades. Well, at least they like the same box so hopefully I'll be ready and able to upgrade next year when the are released.

HU: Pioneer

I built one up (prototype motor still) for a show tomorrow... D1 with just two of the new spiders + double leads.

Burped two 3500s @ 1/4 each on it resulting in 154.2 dB -- with my voltage drop / impedance rise that is probably around 7kw... I may get time to clamp @ the show tomorrow.
