newls1
Looking into "possibly" asking for 1 for christmas. Is the ipod connection still the same as a regular Ipod? Looking for it to be compatible with like a alpine 9886 HU (Or the like) It seems this player does many things, so I think It might be worth the money. Does it have camera capabilities? Eitherway, share with me your thoughts on this model...Thanks Quote I love my staffie So anti FACEBOOK it isn't even funny
iTech
I love mine. (8 GB tethered jailbroken) It just does soo many things. All the apps that are available, keeping up with workout schedules, games, other miscellaneous apps, Has one of the best touch screen responsiveness. I tried to use it on my Pioneer 5000UB and it was a little slower than a regular iPod, but I think its cause my HU is a little old, so I just use a flash drive instead. And I don't think it has camera capabilities, (Yet...) Next year I'm willing to bet they'll have a camera. They now have bluetooth, a built in speaker (Not too great but okay), Wifi, and the list goes on. I def. recommend it for an MP3/iPod Player. Guest DC Power Kyle
I dont think that headunit will charge the ipod touch.... you may have to get the alpine adapter on their site that converts 12V firewire to 5V usb
Guest
the ipod touch uses the same connector (usb to that weird apple connector) but check your headunit manual to see if its compatible
Guest DC Power Kyle
Doesn't matter Kranny... it's the same cord but it charges differently... http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/products/p...model=KCX-422TR So it will play your music no problem but WILL NOT charge your ipod touch unless you get that kind of adapter. /thread
VistaV6
the coolness of it has gotten old for me. my 30gb ipod video is king. Quote SUCCESS is a decision, NOT a dream. inm
no cam yet, they're still working out bugs with it. but, there will be one with a cam soon. I'm waiting for it, then getting a 64GB one. Camera, bluetooth, wifi, all the works. drewb53
i have one and like kyle said it wont charge the ipod, which sometimes is a hassle. But other than that it is great because there are all the apps, etc. It doesnt have camera capabilites, but you can take a screen shot of what is on your ipod and it saves into your pics, which is kinda cool. AI James
itouch is where its at imo, and for it to charge you need to buy an adapter as already stated to change the voltage from 12c to 5v from alpine if you looking at alpine theres other options from them that you dont need a converter Edited November 9, 2009 by Accordman
