Cop kills 2 innocent people and gets paid leave.

that was the first thing that crossed my mind as well. maybe distracted? maybe misjudged his speed? just seems like they shoulda waited to be sure. not that the cop is ok in doing that. i still think it's shitty of him by far and even worse to get paid leave. RIP to the kids and families tho

thats tragic.. i see cops misuse their power in my town as well (billings, mt).. they do turn on their lights, but just blow thru stop lights and turn them back off. its messed up..

However, you guys are acting like the cop is getting a paid vacation. Maybe wait until after the trial to get all pissy about him getting off too light. He will do time for this. And I'm sure you have ALL sped at one time or another and just got lucky that someone didn't turn in front of you.

Remind me how he's misusing his power? If he WAS lights&siren but not on a call that's misuse of power but this is just one guy behind the wheel of a car that happens to be a police cruiser...

I'm not entirely certain we're getting the full story here. Why would someone do something as stupid as that in full knowledge that it was all on both his and the other car's video recorders?

Last of all, the reason he's on paid leave is because last time I checked the justice system went INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY.

I feel for the families of the victims, but they cut out in front of on-coming traffic. I know that does not make it right it appears that the cop was going very fast.

About the cop not doing 94 mph, you must not drive, because the dash cam showed the cop with the cam go from about 65 mph to 70+ mph in a heart beat and the other squad car still kept getting farther. And to still be pulling away the other squad car had to be going AT LEAST 10 mph faster (learned that in drivers ed.) and 80+ mph still looked too slow for how fast that car was moving.

And about the kids turning in front of him, the did what they had the right to do. Like it was posted earlier, there was a couple flashing light, which means the automatically need to be treated as a 4 way stop, and since the cop didn't have his light on that means he just another driver on the road nothing more or less special than you and me.

So that cop should not just NOT have paid leave, but he should have his charges be SPEEDING, RUNNING A STOP, AND MANSLAUGHTER if not 2nd DEGREE MURDER.

And those are just the charges off the top of my head.

What exactly needs to be proved??

It doesn't matter how bad the story could have been twisted by the media or how much of the story is missing, the officer DID crash into the car and that DID cause the 2 kids to die.

Trust me, it've very easy to misjudge a person's speed at night. They had the right of way to turn and if the cop had been going the speed limit, he would have never hit them. He was going an easy 90+ mph. Plus, the cop was about 3 stoplights between the kids and the cop when the kids turn. And you can tell they are some distance apart. I believe those broken lines are approx. 2 feet long and approx. 2 feet apart (based on the ones in my area, which appear to be similar) *EDIT: looks to be more like 3 feet, after looking back at the vid again*. Count them and you'll see there is quite some distance between the cop and kids when the kids turned.

The kids were not at fault. They were in the wrong place at the wrong time.

All of you saying it was the kids fault for turning in front of an oncoming vehicle should be ashamed of yourselves.

RIP to the people in the car that got hit and may God take care of their families.

but for some reason, i doubt he was really going almost 100 mph.. i keep looking at right before he crashes, he would have been past them going 100 and even if the other cop is going 50, he wasnt pulling away THAT fast

this still dosent justify going fast without lights or sirens. he fucked up. the police fail at life again.
