SKID18
Well i just fried my amp (power acoustik 1000 watt mono D 800 "?true?" rms rating, checked all, my ground, power, turn on, speaker wires and everything seems copacetic. When I hooked up the amp and played it, everything was going well and 30 minutes later it just turned off, never came back on.....so now i'm going to invest in a kicker zx400.1 for true rms power with my already kicker 12 solo (600 rms)....would go for a 750.1 but i really dont wanna blow that sub cuz that amp bangs soooo my question is: did i make a good decision(going to kicker 400) from a bad one(pa 1000)? AP Zoutes
an upgrade is always a good decision. If it was my choice between the two I would go with the 750 and just take it easy on the gains and volume. A little extra power is better then a little less power IMHO
Slinky
that kicker amp is better than that pa. good choice. zaxfire69
I don't see how an amp just freakin fries..Are you sure it is fried.?? Did you look at all your fuses? Your Grounds, checked your power wire?? I don't see how it could have fried the amp...I don't disagree that upgrading is the way to go, just make sure you don't spend money that you don't have to spend..But if you got it spend it cause unless you write it in your will you can't die with it!! Just my philosophy!!
SKID18
Yeah it's done with(just sent it thru UPS today)...I checked all my fuses, remote turn-on and everything....was recommended this as a replacement by the soniceletronix guys http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_1502_Kicker+SX500.2.html Any reason that I'm not seeing to why it fried so quickly?...I'm thinking it was overpowering and just self-destructed. Chris
Power acoustik has a rep. of somtimes having defective amps. Just a chance you take that goes along with any item costing less than the good stuff. roscoe1129
power acoustics will spend more on advertising than on improving and making their amps do what they say they will....... SKID18
Well, looks like I might not have fried my amp....my side-post battery terminal was a little "dirty" so i changed it since my car kept stalling from weak power connections.....only drawback to this situation is I just sent my PA amp back already so i'm just gonna get the kicker amp anyway (refurb[since it's cheaper] or new?)....graduation and the money with it is only one week away...wish me luck Quote 1 Kicker VSL512 Power Acoustik 800rms mono class D Pioneer Premier DEH3900MP Complete Kicker Amp Kit (4G) Pioneer TS-G1341R 5-1/4" 2-way Door Speakers[/font]
