Recommended Posts

Try checking over one more time you might have a crossed wire you might have over looked.

That battery is small but I dont see that causing your problem.

I would check voltage at the alt, batt, and amp and compare them all under the same load. That will get you started.

Will do. Ill post up my results later.

Thanks.

I am interested in your answers.

I need to kno what's happening.

you seem to have a good electrical system, with bad results.

I have the same results with a stock electrical system (that I want to improve) !!!

Waiting for informations !

im running 2600 watts and your battery is larger than mine but at 1500 rpm even on the heaviest hitting songs / tones I only drop .3 so it sure isn't the battery... if ya think so ill trade ;)

Yes at the moment it is my only battery and all my power/ground wires are 1/0. Also my gain setting is a little under 3/4.

I have a ground going from the battery and from the alternator. So 2 total. Also I have the additional factory ground and a 1/0 ground from the frame to the engine. How would I check the wiring for voltage drop?

Rob ill be pm'ing you in just a second. Thanks for the reply!!!

maybe its just me but i dont think youre supposed to ground your alternator, just from the battery and from the engine block.

Another battery would help buffer out those voltage dips.

Yeah I definetly will let you know. And hopefully it will help out a lot of people. I messed around with some things yesterday but I didn't have time to test the voltage drop around different points. At this point I still have no clue what it is so...

Oh and dugee81 I was told that it would just help to have another run of ground so I did it to see if it would fix my problem. (did not help)

I am hopping tomorrow I can get some time to work on things and hopefully figure this thing out.

I've had weird voltage stuff with that truck stock..lol

added a overhead screen and saw some funky stuff

Your headlights are just gonna dim bro.

either do hid, or put a 1/4farad cap on the headlight feed wires.

Alot of newer cars need this.

Your charging voltage seems low for having a high output alt. Correct me if Im wrong but shouldnt most cars charge around 14.4 or 14.5.

Did you go to a larger alt pulley when you changed alts?
