Dale Posted May 28, 2007 Report Posted May 28, 2007 the two runs of wire are just from the front battery to the rear where I am putting two more where each amp will have its own seperate connect (no distro blocks) to the batteries. those runs will be less than 6ft so I shouldnt have any probs for just daily bumpin etc.... Do you have an H/O alternator? That's what my question was really geared toward. Because before your amp gets current from your battery, the alternator will be the one providing the current...until....the demand gets too high and the voltage drops. This is where the battery kicks in. I was referring to the instant when your battery hasn't kicked in...if you have an H/O alt (can't remember if you said you had one) do you think 2 runs are enough? Edit: I'm asking more for myself because I plan to have an H/O alt and I was wondering if just 2 runs of knuconceptz would be ok or if 4 runs would be better, since there would certainly be less resistance

I dont think it would be a good choice to connect a seperate amp per battery due to charging issues. ( the last battery may never get its full amount of charge) Thats kind of confusing me a lil bit then. Like Dale, I will be running a multi battery setup soon too. I will probolly be having at least 6 batteries in my trunk too power two amps. So you DO you want to connect the amps to the last battery? Or do you NOT want to connect the amps to the last battery because the last battery may never see a full charge? Would I just ground my amps directly to the battery and not worry about grounding the amps out to the body since the batteries would already be grounded through the body? Just trying to clear up any confusion Here is a diagram on what I was planning. 3 runs of pos and neg from front to back.

If you are going to use a bus bar set up then you can hook the amps to the busbar and anywhere in the line is o.k. I am not using bus bars just wiring them up in parallel. but the diagram that you have is just fine and shouldnt give you ant trouble. roscoe1129 Posted May 28, 2007 Author Report Posted May 28, 2007 Thanx steve, thanx .....visitor?? here is what I did last night....... one t3000 and one XXX 18 in a 9 cube enclosure with a 3" x 19" x 7 " long port tested some music to get a feel if my final calculations would be worth all the effort.....( wouldnt it suck if I did all the work to the wall and had to tear it out) then put a slightly bigger 5 x 19 x 9" anyway......IT BANGED LIKE A MOFO!!!!!!!! I am taking tonight off and will continur on it tuesday night after work!
