Im the same way, its strange but I am accustomed to hearing the noise of the fan to go to sleep, I have a much harder time going to sleep without it, even if it isnt hot I will just point it off into the room somewhere. So if you were to point it at your face, for example, then you increase your risk because you are inhaling whatever it is blowing directly into your open maw as you snooze.
