Bro.. whats the width from B-pillar to B-pillar?

Mine was like 55" at the top.. 65" at the bottom. Seems impossible. Well.. even with 2" thick side walls and steel I got in 18s 3 wide. I never thought it would be possible, hence why we did the tunnel otherwise that was the original plan. And you see I went full circle and ended up doing it.

Hummers are plenty big enough for all those amps/batterys and subs.. And when you get them running right shit will knock.. and knock like freakin crazy.

Bummer about the amps if it is the culprit. I mounted an amp on my trunk lid once. One day the lid slipped out of my hand and slammed shut. That was it for the amp, it would turn off and on and give a big thump while playing ever since. I can just imagine 5 seconds in your hummer at full tilt would be the equivalent of my trunk lid slamming shut once. Hope everything works out, epic build.

i see a lot of people voicing their opinions about the negative aspects of the build now...but i wonder how many of them would still say something if nothing negative happened. still be saying how amazing it is? just sayin...

even tho i only see pics and i'm sure they do no justice, i think the build looks great

i seen positive and negative aspects of this build but out of respect i dont voice them. this is a hell of a build its hard not to have something go wrong pretty much the first time you turn it on. its a lot of equipment.

yeah i wasnt calling out anyone specifically. just funny cuz from what i've seen it's all praise then soon as one error pops up you get all the professional keyboard builders like 'oh yeah this is all wrong' lol. but yeah like you said lade it's pretty hard not to have something go wrong in an install like that. so many connections and wires everywhere

these amps are tested for "normal" abuse... honestly, I saw the roof of your hummer, that thing is going insane. lol

The thing people have to understand is this. Ed built what TRIPPI asked for. This truck was built for more show than "go" so to speak. If it's audio related I'm all for it anyway. This sport has been dying off for a few years now (since Alma Gates retired, the sport has not been the same...miss ya ma!) and any way to make it a growing sport and trend is a good thing.

ALSO...honestly, the batteries in trippi's hummer being exposed is a good thing. the batteries are often the unsung hero in any install... if you can showcase the batteries in a SAFE, and neat, clean way... GO FOR IT!

IF TRIPPI IS HAPPY THEN WE SHOULD BE HAPPY FOR HIM. It really sucks that everyone is shooting holes in the floor of trippi's boat.

I drive it now. At 1st it was towed a few places because I needed new tires for the 30s but I put the ones it came with on there for now till they come in. I just stay local for now though because I dont have a speedometer yet and don't need any problemas WHEN i get pulled over for the noise..i know its just a matter of time.

And agreeing with others... I see what you mean about people not saying much until somethin goes bad then says... oh i knew that was gonna happen. I'm glad I don't fall into that category.

The sub went up in 10 seconds...I talked to Trippi on the phone for about a hour and a half yesterday and went over all kinds of things. Beings that the amplifiers are put in the roof and the subs are firing..into the roof some of the solder joints on the rectifying section of the amp probably has broken loose. When one of these major manufacturers like Kicker, Rockford, JL, JBL etc. builds an amplifier and designs on they put it on a shaker table. It is designed to simulate around 3 million cycles of the amplifier being on the back of a pair of 12's box in a civic...not in the roof of Trippi's hummer.

The difference is hitting the amp with a pool noodle...and hitting it with a fricking jackhammer.

I'd put money on the amps shot DC voltage to the coils..and the reason they did was because they are being vibrated and banged around all over the place because the pressure has NO WHERE ELSE TO GO.

I explain things very simply and use analogies in terms of Pickles, and grape drink, pool noodles and jackhammers...if you can't put 2 and 2 together there man, There simply is not much more I can do.

I guess we'll all see his decision in the coming months. We'll get the truck where it should and needs to be.
