Will a 2nd batt hurt me?

Alt is a stock 100amp unit. stock batt up front. Big 3 has been done in 0g along with 0g positive run. Amplifier will be a Hifonics BXi 2610D.

I plan only to play system with vehicle running, NEVER off. Will adding a 2nd help? I know I need to get a h.o. alt, etc. But this would be a temp set-up til I can afford a h.o. alt. The batt is a Everstart Maxx batt. 925ca, 725cca. up front is a reg. batt I believe a 625cca batt.

youll be fine, i ran 4 batteries off a stock 130, i still have the 130 alt and it works fine after 6 months

it'll help the voltage a little bit, but with both batteries being "wet cells" you'll probably only see a marginal gain.

You'd almost be better off replacing the front battery with the largest AGM you can fit and doing your run from that to the amplifier.

NOW, i used to own that same amplifier, and i can tell you that your voltage is going to suffer quite a bit with the set-up you plan to run. My electrical is listed in my signature, and with the brutus amp i would fall into the low 12s or high 11s. my Diablo Audio Technologies 2500 amplifier doesnt even drop my voltage that low.

look into 2 AGM batteries (big ones) and a new alternator. if you cant do the alternator, just set the amp settings a little easy... if you cant do the batteries or the alternator; kiss your dreams of running this amp, away.

I would stay away from mixing different "technology" batts, but other then that, adding a 2nd batt really would only help ya.....

Each extra battery you add to your system draws ~2A for charging, so you should be just fine with your alt. Not saying it's going to fix your problems though...

Well when you think about your alt isnt make for making alot of power for subs..but it works though..so adding a second batt might have a little more power..but then there will be less power in the long run for the stock alt to keep up..just better be off getting a aftermarket alt.

Just for the record this is a temp electrical set-up. I'm not trying to run this forever... Just until I can afford a H.O. alt and some AGM batts to replace these wet cells.
