it sounds like the sub when the bass hits, that the surrounding of the woofer is hitting the port.

or that the port is actually flexing with the air and is making the sound

I think it's a huge load of port noise, does the sound get's quieter if you turn it down at like volume 10?

It has the same "rattle" but not as violent

I believe it was 0.9cu.ft sealed and 0.6cu.ft ported

I took the port out and I think the sound is coming from the woofer itself or something else inside, I don't think its the port anymore

yeah your ported area is to small thats what it was you need anywhere from 2-2.7 cubes ported for this to work tuned to 60 hz

just swap the port and the terminal cap so the ported section is bigger and the sealed is smaller and see what happens. may give a little more control on the sub

Team S.M.D.

Maritime Car Audio- (2) 18" SSA ZCON D1

- American Bass 500.1

- 60 ft of 3/0

-480 Ah of battery

- (2) stock alternators (70 +90)

- Kenwood Excelon x-794, 4v preouts

car audio is just a LOT more complicated than "this amp does this power" or "this sub will be this loud". its like 2 + 2 = banana. (if that confuses you then you get the point) lol
