Neo_frog
The Fusion amps aren't bad at all. Try running some digital silence and see if the subs move slowly. If they do, then it could be a gain issue. If it happens, try turning it down before playing anything again. Then check the voltage on your remote wire against the amp ground with it on. I've seen it do some funky shit when it shorts or has low voltage. Quote Need an install? Hit me up.[email protected]Got car audio questions? MrSkippyJ
the dual plexi glass box, with neon lights? I think he meant a prefab box for 2 12s, hence the duel wording. Not a box made by Duel. abaddon
I'll try to get box dimensions today. I had a thought that bad RCA's might have been my problem, so I bought some Scoscheeeeee's yesterday at WalMart just to see if they did the trick. Haven't tried those yet. Eric - As for the shitty ground, I cleaned up the area of the seat bolt which is where I've used my grounds several times in the past. It's bare metal and looks shiny. And I would have "taken the fucking time" to get a ring terminal but since yesterday was Sunday, no shops besides WalMart were open. And Walmart just had ring terminals for some 10awg wiring. bealstar - no, what I meant was: The guy who was running the Type R's off of this Fusion amp had his Type R's at 1 ohm. My CVX's are wired at 2ohms. This amp on those Type R's beat the shit out of his car, which is why I bought the amp because I've seen what it can do. General
I see two reasons why this doesn't work" 1st) Switch + and - at one woofer, so the subs play in phase. 2nd) Dump the Fusion amp because that's the biggest crap on earth. Underpower means clipping and that causes the death of your subs. So, please think about this when you use the word 'cheap' because it isn't Edited April 12, 2010 by General Quote ______Some people and performances are beyond words______ Chairman of the foundation "Propper-Droppers Holland" 2012 Founder of the European delegation of `Propper-Droppers' 2011 Dutch Champion EMMA SQ MultiMedia advanced 2010 European Champion EMMA SQ experienced 5 channel 2007 Dutch Champion EMMA SQ experienced 5 channel 2007 BeNeLux vice Champion dB-drag street-A 2007 Dutch vice Champion dB-drag ministreet-sedan 2004 _________________________________________ Propper Droppers is about deep, ground wobbling, elephant-and-whale stimulating Street Bass. CaptainzPlanetz
One thing is you are putting about half power to the subs, in a most likely smaller than spec box, so they are not gonna perform very well. The Fusion Amp is rated at 750rms at 2ohms, that is the RMS for one sub. Combine that with a smaller than spec box and you tend to not get the performance out of the subs. For example my box for my CVX's is a bit on the small side at 1.8 cubes per woofer, but I am also putting about 200rms over the rating to each sub, so it evens out. It worked on your friends type R's since he had them wired at 1 ohm which at that load the fusion amp put out 1000rms, which was perfect for his Type R's given they are 500rms a piece. I would try what others suggested as well as making/getting a new box, that gives the woofers about 2.5 cubes a piece, if you plan on using that amp for a while. Skullz
Your h/u might be taking a crap, try something with rca outputs that you can hookup and try to see if it is in fact the h/u doing. Also make sure the subwoofer output is turned up all the way. abaddon
My system is now fully-operational and pounding hard. Bad RCA's were the culprit. Just like I had imagined all along. I wanted to thank everyone for their replies and advice, I actually learned a lot by reading the replies in this topic and didn't think I would have as many people trying to help as I did. So for that I thank you all.
