teamace24
This is only my opinion and im sure others will disagree, but go ahead and pound them out of the box but of course do not clip them or overpower them which is a thing you should never do anyways regardless if they are not broken in or not. I tell you this because i do not believe in 'breaking in a sub' since i bought brand new subs plenty of times before and pounded them out of the box, and all that happens was over time they got louder and played lower which is to say 'broke in' Search around 'break in subs' threads for all the back and forth on the subject. Neo_frog
Some have their little rituals, but if a sub can't take abuse right out of the box, it shouldn't be played. You'll be fine beating on it. I gave my LVL5s 4k right out of the box, and they proceeded to get louder every fucking day. I'd say about two weeks of hard playing to get the suspension totally loosened up. Quote Need an install? Hit me up.[email protected]Got car audio questions? TeamHT
of course a well built sub can be played right out of the box, but i always like to play it safe. theres no real timelimit cookie cutter time thats going to work for every sub. i run new subs free air until you can see a dramatic difference in the stiffness Quote Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you? RfPwred
Just 4 hours of play time, dont beat the shit outta them, but pound them hard enough. IH8PunkRok
break in time is only beneficial for pure SQ setups. as the sub loosens it plays louder and lower so it is beneficial for them to break in the sub before it ever enters their system. but you know what they do? beat the shit out of it. then they install it Quote -Matt2005 Dodge Magnum RTJVC KD-AVX1 2 PPI S580.2 Obsidian Audio ST1 Horn Tweeters PRV 8MB450s Audio Legion 3500.1D 2 RE MT 18s 360 ah LiFePO4 BatterySHCA 2/0 155.2 @ 29 hzKicker CVR 15's buildDD 3512e buildMini T-Line Build(6) 8s BuildNightshade 15s Wall BuildMagnum AB XFL 12s BuildNewest Magnum Build
