R_Mac_1
You could probably buy an old style motor (or blown woofer) and send it to Fi to have it reconed to a 15". Then it'd be basically new. sundownz
Products are subject to improvements. I had some folks angry with me when I updated my amp casings a few years back, when I discontinued the 2000s, when I discontinued the NS v.1 to make the v.2, and so forth after pretty much every new model that replaced an old model *laughs* But... things always have to improve or you will fall behind in the industry. But I agree - just find a motor and get brand new soft parts and it is like new Quote - Jacob Fuller - Owner, Sundown Audio - Sundown Audio on FACEBOOK - Please DO NOT PM ME -- use my email address -- [email protected]
Guest jbinn
you guys dont understand im not bitching lol its good they upgrade... but its stupid as hell if I cant mix the two... they have the SAME RMS/XMAX/HZ FRQ and everything only difference is the motor, why would I have to have seperate enclosures? Also I dont want to buy another OLD version because I actually planned on going with ALL new models in the future, but ive only had my current one for like 3-4 months and I dont want to get rid of it yet... Can anyone verify if I can mix them? if I can its all good, if not this is BS and I guess im shopping for another old version :-/

RfPwred
Well all i can say is that if they have the same everything they should work, but one will always be stronger then the other because of the little upgrade they had, you can always port your Fi's but, put a single port for each sub therefore it will be almost breathing the same and it will all around just sound better for 2 different models... or another way is you can get the new model and then get a blown model of your sub and change out the magnets and motors and that should be just about the same. Guest
I heard the ONLY difference is it uses BTL motor structure and gasket... so I mean if thats ALL then the only difference should be the SSD being able to take a little more heat... I'll contact them about it I suppose and see what they say. I dont see why it wouldnt work eigther. just cause it looks the same doesnt mean it is the same.
