Does fiberglass come off masking tape?

Covering an A pillar in masking tape, then going over that in fiberglass to get a mould. Then taking that mould and fiberglassing the inside of that to get an exact replica of the original a pillar, without ruining it. When I tape the factory one and glass over that and it dries, will that come off easily?

it does but not as easy as tinfoil or something of the part. i had to beat my sidepanels out with a sledgehammer after 1 layer

It is very difficult to get the tape off. It will protect whatever you are taping off, but expect to take the tape with it when you pull it off. Then it's really annoying because the sticky end is exposed.

can use tin foil or a little thing I like to call "Mold release Wax"

What if when you take the mould off, you add another layer of resin over that sticky side? Just to get rid of the "stickyness"

masking tape seemed to work fine when i was glassing a base for my rear deck, some of it sticks to the fiberglass but its easy to take off with knife and a little patients

Mold release wax. It comes in a spray can. Do it.
