Ya know? It has nothing to do with nutthuggers, its the simple fact the amp is being promoted to be something god like and its not really even all that impressive, if the numbers people have been putting up. Yes it sounds like a great amp, BUT when you can get similiar power, for alittle more, WITH warranty why should you try it out? We never charged for a repair, and yes, vast majority of problems = install problems that might or might not be known by the user. thats the owner of SD... since people seemed to have missed him saying that that dont sound right the sd 8k we clamped did 5256 watts with aohm rise to 4 ohms and 9 volt drop my 12k got about 7150 watts with it going up to 4 ohms and same voltage drop since apparently 4600 at 12v is awesome at 4 ohms, i had to throw that out there, since people seem to miss all the good info in this thread I am not bashing AQ at all, but saying 4600 at 4 ohms, at 12v isnt something to be *OHHHH thats a GREAT amp.. and that price tag is meh, put a extra 400 on it and offer a warranty or something. He said it has more in it, but he only has 1 Mechman alt, 2 d3100s in back and hc1200 in front. 4 runs of power and ground from front to back. Oh i wont ever buy it, but it shouldnt be clamming things that it just is not.. 1 its not a 20k amp.. 2 its not able to run 18v UNLESS YOU mod it your damn self actually, they said the protection circuit is at 15.5v.... 3 its not warrantied by the manufacture if you mod it... actually, its not warrantied period... Considering the amp costs 1900 shipped, seems like a pretty good watt/dollar ratio. How much do other amps that make 12-14k @ 1 ohm run? I honestly don't know. I mean, the AQ 3500d.1 is $750, and it seems like it would take about 3 of those to make the power that the AQ20 is doing...and it's cheaper. And so what if you have to mod it. From what I hear its a simple mod and the only people doing it would be people who know what the hell they're doing. Anyone running a huge system with up to 20k watts at 18v and the alts and batts to back it up could easily mod an amp. How many people run Sundown amps under 1 ohm? Seems like about half, honestly. No warranty on those, either. Gotta pay the cost to be the boss.
