chud
And I'd really like to know how adding a fuse holder to a ground "cleans up" an install. Get real. You can't fix stupid
finkster
Well since nobody but andy answered why i will give you a short answer on top of his. measure the voltage at the input of the amp. around 14 volts. measure the voltage at the ground terminal of the amp. 0 volts. Anywhere up to a coil will be positive, anything after that will be either less or 0 depending on the circumstances (number of coils, and how its wired...yadda yadda)... no, it doesnt need to be fused. LilTeddyP
I guess let me rephrase, CAN it be fused, I know it doesn't NEED it. I don't want to do something that is gonna fuck it up. I'll get copper tubing cut to fit in the fuse spot and make it a distribution block. 2001 Bravada (2wd) Pewter on 24's JVC KW-AV60BT 10 Alpine Type-S 6.5s 2 PSI/BTL 18's @ 32Hz 2 Rockford Fosgate T25001-bd's @ 1-ohm each Rockford Fosgate T1000-4 Rockford Fosgate T400-4 Rockford 3Sixty.2 Yellow top up front, 2 9a31s in the back LOTS of AT 1/0 Python 991 350 Amp Singer Alt "Build Log" My Facebook My YouTube i didnt see the video or read anything but...cool story and the reason your being a cock tonight is? finkster
ugh im buzzed sorry. let me rephrase. there is the same amount of potential on each side. difference is that we normally dont fuse grounds because if it touches bare metal in the car it doesnt matter, unlike a positive wire. you can fuse it for looks if u want, the fuse will conduct electricity just like the wire would. LilTeddyP
What are the chances of that ground fuse popping, and not my pos fuse, making my amp want to see ground through my rcsa and fucking my pioneer deck up because they are notorious for that 2001 Bravada (2wd) Pewter on 24's JVC KW-AV60BT 10 Alpine Type-S 6.5s 2 PSI/BTL 18's @ 32Hz 2 Rockford Fosgate T25001-bd's @ 1-ohm each Rockford Fosgate T1000-4 Rockford Fosgate T400-4 Rockford 3Sixty.2 Yellow top up front, 2 9a31s in the back LOTS of AT 1/0 Python 991 350 Amp Singer Alt "Build Log" My Facebook My YouTube i didnt see the video or read anything but...cool story and the reason your being a cock tonight is? finkster
sigh...dont worry about it.. Either everyone would fuse their grounds or no one would run pioneer if this was the case. well none of these is the case. Im going to bed. skittlesRgood
the only thing i see it hurting is your current flow. you are adding an unnecessary bottleneck. if its just the looks of matching fuse holders and not wanting a distro block to throw of the looks, put a copper bar where the fuse should go. If I answered you in a well mannered, informative way, you asked a good question or had a good attitude. If I was an asshole, you asked a stupid question or you had a fucktard attitude... or I was in a bad mood.
