hamel52
anyone want to throw me some dimensions for the torres calc that you think would be best?
AUDIOADDICT02
yeah i did notice that when using the torres calc it pretty much gives you a range determined by box volume. so what is the right way to build it? I usually stick with the site's number for port area cause that way I'll know what port area I need according to tuning freq & sub xmax...in the calc's port area range you hav either smallest or biggest port area... bkolfo4
2.25 with 40 inches works. Quote Current system: 1997 Blazer - (4) Customer Fi NEO subs with (8) American Bass Elite 2800.1s Previous systems: 2000 Suburban - (4) BTL 15's and (4) IA 40.1's = 157.7 dB at 37 Hz. 1992 Astro Van - (6) BTL 15's and (6) IA 40.1's = 159.7 dB at 43 Hz. bkolfo4
yeah i did notice that when using the torres calc it pretty much gives you a range determined by box volume. so what is the right way to build it? The box volume method is a very simplified estimate. jojo42
I don't know how big your trunk is, or maybe I didn,t read hard enough but in Torres Calc I got, h 14", w 35", d 18" for the box, 3/4" 1.5 baffle, then for the port I got h 12.5", w 3.25", l 30", 40.63 sq inchs of port, 3 common port wall, almost 2.5 cubes after displacement (2.44), 35htz. hamel52
well i already have a box sealed from the trunk firing forward so im going to stick with that, so i will most likely need an l port which has 3 common walls unless anyone knows how to work with aero ports, or has any better ideas, i did one 34x16x16 with 43.5 inches of port and port 14.5x3x40 with 19.42in^2 port area per foot net volume of 2.24 after sub and bracing displacement which i calculated .3 bracing for 45s not sure if thats enough, tuned to 33.38hz. what do you think?
