sundownz
By 1000 rms you mean 2500 rms, correct? We will have to see... coil is pretty short @ 25mm long due to XBL^2 topology. I am trying to see if I can squeeze a "mini Monster coil" in there... aka: 12-layer flat aluminum. If I can do that I think running a 2500-watt amp on one thermally would be possible... I ran a 4500 @ 0.5 daily on the Monster and for bass-race runs (149.9 from one 15) no issue... and it's coil was only 42mm long. The "stock" coil is 8-layer round copper... pretty beastly coil for the length. sundownz
Got my drawing of the cone I'm planning to use... it's quite unique too -- 15 grams weight and I don't see anything short of 180 dB breaking it *laughs* (this type of cone may end up finding it's way onto some of our other subs later) Surround has linear throw up until 2 mm from the basket running out of clearance... motor is linear up until 5 mm from that point. The spider will be just as linear as the surround. So the overall design is linear up until right before things start crashing together Quote - Jacob Fuller - Owner, Sundown Audio - Sundown Audio on FACEBOOK - Please DO NOT PM ME -- use my email address -- [email protected]
EricR
Sounds like it should be rewarding Quote i was thinking leave the 12 sitting in the box in the hole and duck tape from the bottom of the sub to the bottom of the baffle so the sub doesnt free air. would that work?
