What would you rather have? Used Alpine type X, brand new Alpine Type R

If I could get both of these for the same price, which pair would i go with. The Type X is the older model, used in decent condition 2 owners. The Type R pair on ebay is the same price except its brand new.

I guess the type x isnt much better than the type r unless its the newest $700 model (SRX-17)

My goal here is SQ, with good SPL (not ridiculously loud, but not only 2 db louder than stock)

if you know who the two previous owners are and how hard the subs were driven i say the type x, if not i would buy new.

Which model of Type X? If you know they work fine, I would go with the X's

type x is better than type r but not by much. and used by 2 people before you means much more research to see if everything is ok. but if youre going sq, why alpine?

what version of the X's? they had the Type X REF and the PRO.

Assuming the condition is good and everything you need to mount them is included, id go with the X's regardless of series.
