Alpine cda 117 headunit

Boston Acoustics GTA 400m amp

4 JL Audio 6w3v3 subs

Alpine Type R componats and coaxils what you guys think of that.

Dont be to harsh ray lol its probably SQ to him. Its ok for a someone starting. If you ever want upgrade just be prepared empty your wallet.

Sq is a dick load of money my friend. That will sound good imo, but compared to a big time sq setup, not so much

If you're going to burn money in this, I'd say first buy a good processor like a JBL MS8. I did. It's a night and day difference.

You need to decide what your definition of SQ is. And just how far you are willing to take it, or capable of affording. There is a huge difference between good sound quality in your car and Sound Quality competition. I agree with everyone else, it may be a good start, but the better you start off with, the less you have to change out later.

By all means it is a great starting point and it will sound good (for now). SQ comp and SQ personal is two different things. SQ personal this is a great way to start. SQ comp yeah you might be able to use the amp and thats about it.

The SQ comp scene allows for all types of people and systems from high school kids to professional sound engineers from PIXAR (some company in Hollywood). Point being is that start with that and take the advice you'll get here and other sites man there is a lot to learn. I been so wrapped up in the SPL world and I barely dabbled in the SQ world and damn did I get my head spinned around.

I tryed to build for both and really I just shorted myself. I think SQ and SPL comps needed dedicated vehicles to either. +

I don't think it is about what you spend on gear or the gear you use as much as the time you put in to make it stage right and sound accurate. Plenty of people don't have near what others have in their systems and do pretty well to those who have a large amount of money wrapped up in their cars.
