Jville140db
Hey guys I just got my new HID light kit and im gonna put it in tomorrow but all the websites say you need a relay off the battery to make it work right or you will burn up your factory switch and fuses. My question is why are they plug and play if that could occur should I be concerned about this or am I worrying over nothing. Car is in sig and the hid kit is a 35w 6k h11 bulb type for my low beam. edit spelling Edited August 26, 2010 by Jville140db Quote Car is 2010 Scion Tc Currently in car Deck- Sony XAV-60 in-dash mobile video system Speakers- Rockford Punch 6.5in comps in the front and coax in the rear Subs- 2 Gen 3 Rockford P3 12's dual 4 ohm Amps- Rockford P1000-1bd and P400-4 Alpine Mrp-f300 is in for P400-4 which is out to service Wiring- all rockford nuff said Enclosure- Dual 12in custom box by SRQ Battery- Optima Yellow top with big 3 done Sound Damping- All Dynamat products 1-2 layers throughout with liner on top Link to my build log- http://down4sound.co...=newpost&t=5275 Link to my youtube- http://www.youtube.c...ser/Jville140db MECP Advanced CEA # 110531 BassBox 6 Pro for Box Building/Re audio box calculator If you can hear the passenger it aint loud enough!!!!!!! Robert8252
35w ballast will be fine to plug and play. 55w ballast can draw a lot more current and cause damage or not even work with factory wiring which is when you would need a relay wiring harness but you're good to go with 35w Quote 2013 F150 Crew Cab Old Build Log Feedback 2013 F150 Equipment - Some Awesome Stereo Sound Making Stuff

bassHZ
you usually need relays on older cars like 1980 's and all that were u can burn up the fuse etc. but i did a 02 yukon with 55 watts on both highs and lows and 35 watts on fogs and havent had any problems at all no relays just plug and play its been 4 months already Edited August 26, 2010 by jl_audio

Jville140db
yeah i figuered u should be alright since ur stock halogen draws 55 watts yeah my concern came when they said that they spike when first turned on at 12-15 amps and my stock fuses are only 10 for each lamp Quote Car is 2010 Scion Tc Currently in car Deck- Sony XAV-60 in-dash mobile video system Speakers- Rockford Punch 6.5in comps in the front and coax in the rear Subs- 2 Gen 3 Rockford P3 12's dual 4 ohm Amps- Rockford P1000-1bd and P400-4 Alpine Mrp-f300 is in for P400-4 which is out to service Wiring- all rockford nuff said Enclosure- Dual 12in custom box by SRQ Battery- Optima Yellow top with big 3 done Sound Damping- All Dynamat products 1-2 layers throughout with liner on top Link to my build log- http://down4sound.co...=newpost&t=5275 Link to my youtube- http://www.youtube.c...ser/Jville140db MECP Advanced CEA # 110531 BassBox 6 Pro for Box Building/Re audio box calculator If you can hear the passenger it aint loud enough!!!!!!! baaudio
I've never had this sort of issue and I've done lots of hid kits. But all have been 35 watt kits. I think you're going to be fine.
