CJ18 Posted September 28, 2010 Author Report Posted September 28, 2010 Not impressed by the HOLY SMD's. I cant wait to see the LVL 5 results. But in there defense maybe F150's just dont get LOUD. But I dont think thats the case. Now remember I am going to be testing the level 5 at RMS which I thought was 3k but have been told is actually 2k......I know they can handle much more and that will be done at a later date but jsut to be fair.
suicideking602 Posted September 28, 2010 Report Posted September 28, 2010 I just seen 2 SMD 15's this weekend hit a 151 and some change on two saz-3500s in a up fire enclosure in a truck, i'm not knocking your system, I just think you might need to rethink your enclosure design. I wasnt impressed by your full dd ride that blew subs left and right at slamology with a 144 db for 4 15s walled...... LOL CJ - left you a comment on your bassrace video. You can get much better results by over 3db I bet if you use a consistant song for bassrace, I put on is the worst of the worst for song choice in metering bassrace style Keep up the tests tho!

You can get much better results by over 3db I bet if you use a consistant song for bassrace, I put on is the worst of the worst for song choice in metering bassrace style Keep up the tests tho! I know its not a good bass race song, I just like the way it sounds so I played it.

But I dont think thats the case. I will give a better opinion once I hear the LVL 5s but so far i am very impressed by the sound of the SMDs I dont care what the number says they flat out hurt. Keep up the good work! The SMD is a completely new sub and has its own characteristics of what it wants to get loud. I think I am going to try putting it in a smaller enclosure like I keep hearing and see what it does. Im thinking 5.25 per before displacements. Cody I hope fedex comes early. Fedex delivers out of crestview which is 1.5 hrs away from me so they dont get to me til between 3and 5. I might have a new box put together for them tomorrow if I have time.

Thats cool. Maybe I should have planned things out better, instead of overpowering those DD's with 3Xs the rated power. I think the 144db your talking about is after I PUPOSLY blew one sub. After the the one coil went I could care less. Was only there for points. Besides Im not bashing anything of Codys install Just stating a point. Who do you think got him the LVL 5's?

I just wanted to say the attention to quality on your enclosures and wiring is awesome. Keep up the good work. Waiting to see whats next...
